The Letter U

I thought I'd better post my last preschool before I have it again next week. The letter U was interesting to find things to do.
On Monday we divided up into two groups. One group worked with me on Boogle Jr making words and sounding them out. The other group played Uno Moo. We made fish bowls with the letter U and drew fish in them. We cut out
pictures of things that go under and
things that go up and put them in
their correct spot. The kids had cabin fever that day, it was one of the first nice days. They bugged me all day long about going outside to play. So we had to make sure we got in a little playtime outside.








On Wednesday we learned about the United
States of America. We told stories about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, learning what great men they were. We made three point hats like they wore in Washington's time. We read the "Scrambled States of America" and talked about the different states and what makes America such a great place to live. We talked about the flag, why we say the pledge of allegiance and colored a flag. When I was trying to figure out what to do with the letter U, I asked Claire what we should do. So she decided to make an activity for us. She drew all of the letters on pieces of paper and had the kids walk around while music was playing. When the music stopped we drew a letter to see who was standing on that letter. It was fun to have her be in charge of part of preschool.

I had a lot of fun with the kids. I can tell as it warms up, they are going to be a little restless. They would much rather be outside playing. I'm glad that they all get along so well and have so much fun together. I can't believe that we have to go register them for Kindergarten tomorrow. Who said they could grow up on us?
