Letter Qq

Our day started out learning what a QUARTERBACK was. Of course the boys knew right away what I was talking about, but the girls looked at me with puzzled faces:) We sang "The Quiet Quarterback" and took turns being the quarterback and throwing a pair of socks to each other. We then got busy coloring, cutting, and glueing our letter Qq quarterback.

We talked about opposites and did an activity with QUICK and slow and QUIET and loud. They had a fun time jumping up and down QUICKLY and QUIETELY clicking their tongues.

They showed how they are pros at writing their names and tracing the letter Qq. I was very impressed with how fast they have all learned since I taught them last. They are progressing leaps and bounds! We talked about QUARTERS and rubbed over top of a quarter with a crayon and watched it appear on our papers!

We took some time to do a little bit of rhyming. I would say 2 words and if they rhymed they would clap their hands. If they didn't they would rub their hands together. Once again, they were brilliant and I couldn't trick them!

I sent home sight words with a sucker. For their homework they were to memorize the sight words the entire time it took them to eat their sucker. This made Riley want to bite it and get on with more important things....playing!
